To some Swedes, the religious origin of Easter is very important, with churches welcoming people to celebrate Easter together. To others, Easter is a family weekend in the countryside.
But we dare say that the following applies to most of us. 😘
You basically need 5 things to celebrate Easter Swedish-style:🥚 Eggs – they should be painted, boiled and eaten.🎨 Paint – necessary both for decorating eggs and turning cute children into Easter witches.🍬 Sweets! (Don't tell anyone, but Swedish Easter is partly an excuse for an all-you-can-eat sweets weekend! 🤫 )🐟 Salmon – cure it with salt and pepper to make delicious gravlax!🧹 A broom – absolutely vital, so that the witches can fly off to Mount Blåkulla, of course.
