About this toolkit Successful research and innovation requires a society that invests financially and provides the conditions for and supports creative high-tech environments. Sweden allocates 3.7% of the total state budget to research and innovation and is ranked second in the Global Innovation Index. The success of Sweden’s research and innovation can also be linked to the unique quadruple helix which brings together the state, industry, academia, and civil society to collaborate on projects that accelerate the green transition and economic sustainability.
